Many people with mental health problems report fear of stigma and service cost prevent them from seeking help. Dr Amelia Gulliver investigates the use of online programs for improving community mental health with a view to providing access to private, cost-free self-help online.

Dr Gulliver participates in lived experience research, a field focused on partnering with people who have experience of mental health problems, or their carers. Her research unit is staffed by people who are consumers or carers themselves.
Amelia is currently conducting a project evaluating a music program for quality of life and depression in people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Dr Gulliver completed her PhD at the Australian National University in 2013 and is currently a Research Fellow, Centre for Mental Health Research and Lecturer at the Australian National University.
