Dr Brendan Crabb

University of Melbourne

Brendan trained as a veterinary virologist and attained international recognition for his development of understanding of new equine viruses and for the creation of a vaccine for them. His subsequent work in the genetic manipulation of malarial parasites and of selective inactivation of malarial genes has helped our understanding of how these parasites can enter the body.

In December 2007 Professor Crabb was appointed as Director and CEO of the Burnet Institute.
