Leon Beswick (Co-Chair)
Leon Beswick is Managing Director of Civic Health. He has over ten years' experience in implementing successful health communication campaigns for major pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as professional associations and health technology organisations.
Doctor Sarah Meachem (Co-Chair)
Doctor Sarah Meachem, PhD Monash University joined the Board in 2016 and is an academic research scientist and health research advocate. She completed her PhD at Monash University in 1999 where she studied reproduction.
Sarah took on the role of Co-Chair at the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
Professor Ronika Power
Professor Ronika Power studies ancient human remains to understand what it was like to live – and die – in the past, and to communicate the science of human health, climate change, violence and mass migrations.
Peter McMahon
Peter McMahon BA is an experienced policy advocate delivering industry wide transformation.
Peter has advised the Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care, held a senior management position within the Health Insurance Commission (HIC), and then moved into private sector sales roles with Telstra and HP respectively.
Most recently, Peter runs his consultancy business called Bossy Group.
Jiao Jiao Li
Jiao Jiao is a biomedical engineer working in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, Dr Jiao Jiao Li (JJ) envisions a future where stem cells and bioactive materials can be ‘personalised’ to provide optimal treatments for major diseases. Leading a research team in biomedical engineering, she is currently developing regenerative therapies for bone and joint disorders, turning medical discoveries into new therapies for patients.
Andrew Goodsall (Treasurer)
Andrew Goodsall BA (Hons) Grad Dip (Asian studies) MBA is the senior healthcare analyst with MST Marquee Australia. Andrew has specialised in equity research since 1999 and is rated as the number one sector analyst in each of the major surveys since 2004. Prior to joining MST Marquee in 2017, he was with UBS and Citi.
Professor Sandra Orgeig
Sandra Orgeig (BSc (Hons), PhD) joined the board in 2019 and is Professor in Pulmonary Biology and Associate Head of School (Research) in the School of Pharmacy & Medical Sciences at the University of South Australia.
