Libby’s research looks at patterns of medication use in the Australian community, problems with medication use and the effectiveness of strategies to improve medication use. By examining patterns of antibiotic use, we can determine what types of antibiotics are being used and how this might help or hinder the development of antibiotic resistance. Research examining the number of people who are hospitalised due to problems with their medicines is useful for determining the extent of inappropriate medication use.
