Dr Peate is passionate about helping individuals affected by cancer through her research which looks at the needs of cancer victims and developing accessible tools to meet those needs. With a focus on a younger demographic, Michelle specifically looks at the issues affecting women who have been affected by cancer, such as fertility, menopause and life after cancer. By combining her study into free and easily accessible information, Michelle gives women the type of information to help them make the best decision when faced with such a grave situation.
Michelle has collaborated with both national and international organisations in order to get her information out to those who need it most. She has involved in the development of five information booklets which present complex medical information simply and is the Research Program Manager for a clinical trials group which will provide her with increased opportunities to communicate scientific knowledge. Along with teaching primary and secondary science, she has been working with CanTeen on a consumer web-portal and is involved in the development of a center for cancer survivorship.
