By employing advanced micro/nanofabrication techniques, A/Prof Toan Dinh has engineered materials and structures that are soft, stretchable, and capable of adhering to human skin. These sensors can monitor respiration and biophysical signals with high accuracy, providing vital real-time data. Currently, he is collaborating with nurses and physicians to refine this technology further. The goal is to create a commercialised platform that enables personalised medicine for respiratory diseases, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing the healthcare burden associated with these conditions.
