Research Field: Behavioural Medicine
Dr Camille Short is interested in how to increase the population’s physical activity levels using novel IT-based interventions. She has developed interactive websites and mobile applications for specific population groups, eg. people affected by cancer, people living in rural locations or people who are overweight.
Her work has led to advances in our understanding of how we can promote physical activity among large numbers of people at the same time, whilst also providing high quality and personalised support at a low cost. Dr Short’s research aims to benefit the community in terms of improved public health and reduced health care costs.
She has delivered community presentations and been involved with local radio, online and print-based media, and is currently an NH&MRC Early Career Research Fellow.
