Dr Hannah Keage

Dr Hannah Keage – Cognitive Neuroscience
Lecturer, School of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy, University of South Australia

Dr Hannah Keage investigates the causes and effects of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease. As the global population ages the prevalence of dementia is set to rise. Hannah’s research focuses on the underlying biology of late-onset dementia, as well as identifying factors that are associated with increasing or decreasing dementia risk. For example, her work has shown that people who complete more education in early life have a decreased risk of dementia in later life. With greater understanding of the mechanics of dementia Hannah expects that we will be able to improve diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
