University of Adelaide
Sam is an engineer whose research explores medical applications of T-ray technology. Sam copmleted his PhD Thesis on ‘T-ray Biosensing,’ reporting the first uses of terahertz spectroscopy for bioaffinity detection. He graduated in 2004 with special commendation and was awarded the University Medal.
His contributions are demonstrated by two patents and a number of seminal journal publications. T-rays represent a rich new science leading to advanced forms of biophotonics, non-invasive diagnostics and imaging of gas mixures, biological materials, biomedical samples, hazardous substances, and nanomaterials and nanostructures.
