Dr Kay Double

Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute

Kay’s research focuses on investigating the causes and treatments of Parkinson’s Disease, a common and devastating neurodegenerative disease which affects in excess of 40,000 Australians. As part of her research, she developed and patented the first biochemical test for the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. As part of her current research she is coordinating a large international, multi-site clinical trial to determine if this test can also detect the disease before symptoms develop.
